NA Perfume Description
In the Cairo souk, Khan el Khalili, a friend of mine took me to his Mother's pastry shoppe where I sat and inhaled all the scents of the souk - spices, sweets and the faint scent of fruit.
'Mama' didn't ask me what I wanted, instead she looked at me with her hands held out against me, as if reading me - and smiled and then returned to the kitchen. She brought out a lovely Egyptian caramel coffee while we waited and told her son in Arabic that the pastry would be ready soon.
I sat drinking my coffee looking out into the sea of colours coming from all of the tourists and that faint smell of fruit came to me stronger now but I could not pin point what it was exactly.
Out of the kitchen, and still steaming, 'Mama' brought me a plate with a pastry wrapped up in a silken cloth. From it spices and sugar and delicious dark plum fruit and that warm scent of fresh baked pastry came to my nose all in one nose-gasm.
This is my interpretation to her pastry.
Beautiful fresh Egyptian plum plucked from beside the Nile, Butter scented pastry, Egyptian Vanilla and sugar and a touch of Musk to not make this completely salivating - but exotic and beautiful and meant to take you to that same table where I sat and bring forth an inhale of Egyptian delight.
This GC, like all Egyptian Sweets, Coffee & Tea, is available in both 5ml and Skarab sample vial.
