Like cherries in the snow, the blood dripped off my hands into the white shiny satin ice I tread upon. I walked a little longer hoping to seek refuge but realizing I was lost in this desert of white sand with every crunch I took deeper into the snow.
I heard a sound coming from all around me. The cold getting to my head, making my limbs so numb I could barely stand. I had to push on and into the snow and hope I would find something that would remind me or something that would save me from this cold.
The sound came like flapping bat wings around me but when I looked all around at the sky and trees, I saw nothing but the dim of the sky that was beginning to shade the sun with dark clouds. The snow turned from white to blue and I felt like my eyes were playing tricks on me. Everywhere around me the blue took over. I could feel the blue numb in my hands and in my feet as I made my way forward.
Alas, ahead of me, a large building set upon a great hill. There was a path and I pushed myself harder to reach it. From behind me I heard the sound of the tread of the hooves of horses. A carriage sped past me up the hill on the path that led to the...the castle.
Where was I? What was this place? How did I get here?
Just then I heard the bats again as I looked around I noticed the full moon come through the clouds as the day had turned to night. Then it began to hurt.
My body contorted and the agony was relentless. I looked at my hands that stretched and long sharp nails protruded. In my mind I could not think except to scream and howl at the moon as the transformation began.
A voice, not his, came from the carriage. The door opened and a man in black with a long flowing cape appeared. He held a walking staff with a carved silver wolf head as the handle. His long sharp teeth gave him away.
"The game is afoot." The Vampire said.
