Meditation with the Gods: Seth
NA Perfume Description
Dark of Seth: Deep within the city of the Underworld the dark lord sat at his throne contemplating how to abide the ticking of time from above. A soft rattle beneath his chair made the God repose for a moment.
“Come from under my throne dark serpent and tell me what you know.”
The snake hissed and rattled and finally stood up on the end of it’s tale and opened it’s Cobra wings.
“I know that there is a rising within you. I can sensssss it.” He hissed, “a darkness not even you can discern. And it will continue until you embrace itsssssss life.”
The dark lord did not move. He only shifted his eyes up and down the body of the serpent.
“I could take your life in one swift move. How dare you tell a God what rises within him?” The Gods voice made the very earth above him tremble. Small fragments of earth fell upon the serpent's body. It winced and thought to articulate his next words carefully, “I only have obeyed what my Lord has asked of me. It isssssss my duty to answer when questioned.”
Seth looked at him for a moment and acknowledged the serpent had meant no disrespect, “then tell me more about what arises within this God you speak of.”
“It is a ssssssuffering like none before you. You have lost something that has made you sssssssilent to your heart. If you wish to abolish this darkness within darkness you musssssssst acknowledge your true ssssssssadness of the heart.”
The God lowered his head and only moved his eyes to look at the serpent from beneath his brow. “Leave me serpent lest I make that swift move I mentioned.” The serpent put down his wings and slowly coiled back to the ground and slithered toward the God. His rattle lifted and unwrapped a small bottle. The serpent left a perfume for his God and then he slithered away without ever looking back.
The dark lord sat there with abatement to what was said. There was truth to the Cobra and his words. Truth that was not mistakable.
“My heart has felt the Overworld tremble but it is within my loss of you that this Underworld will flood with my tears. Because you have left me. Because you have taken away my love and replaced a darkness within my darkness.”
The dark lord looked down and lifted what the Cobra had left. Seth veered through the Green bottle and saw a fluid within with the aid of the candles around him. He opened the bottle and the scent within entranced him. Something in it made him forget for a moment what was but what is. He slowly dropped a drop of the perfume on his skin and lifted his nose and inhaled.
“Oh great serpent how I have undermined you, you that walk above and below and never in between without ever touching your feet to the ground.”
Seth inhaled again and remembered love and what he had lost and understood finally the mourning of loss had rearranged itself within him simply by recognizing it. The darkness within darkness shifted itself until it became him. And he accepted this darkness within darkness as his own. And then it was gone. The way the tracks of the serpent had blown away on the sand within his chamber in the Underworld.
“You are right great serpent to have given this to me. It is enlightening and endarkening to my being. I give peace to what I cannot have because it is not meant to be. And in it’s replacement I no longer give it any energy but I forget it because it hurts too much to hold onto any longer.”
Close your thoughts for a moment and recognize both sides of dark and light. Open your thoughts when this becomes enlightenment to you. It is there before you as it always has been. You are within your within and fleeting moments of darkness make you whole. Discover them and discover that without your darkness you cannot be. It darkens the moments that are light and light brightens the moments to see what it is we are open to truly look upon within ourselves. We are continuously learning and in that may we evolve if only for a thought to let Seth sleep and awake when he must be.
