Medusa, only mortal to the immortal siblings Stheno and their sister Elyuryah. Medusa, the beautiful with hair of silk and the scent of fresh air. One day her vanity became too much for her that she burst out saying to herself in the mirror, "I am more beautiful than the Goddess Athena." The other sisters put their heads down not believing what she had just said.
The next day Medusa woke to the sound of "ssssss" coming from within her bed. She jumped up to find her sisters had fled and as she went to her mirror she soon found the mirrored pieces were smashed to bits with not one shread of reflection left.
The Goddess Athena stood near. "It serves you well to hear me Gorgon Witch. I am Athena, Goddess of beauty and you tempt me with such lies? I have turned your hair to slithering serpents and you will never have a male suitor less you do they look you in your eyes and they turn to stone."
"Why Athena? Why? My beauty can never possess the pure beauty of a Goddess. I was in haste Goddess. Please forgive me?" Medusa said falling to her knees reaching for Athena that soon backed away from her.
"You have spoken your voice. Now become that which must be hidden from all eyes including your own."
Medusa hid from the world, in a cave, above the sea in the Mountains of Greece. She soon grew weary of this and called upon the birds to deliver messages to the men of villages. She told them in whispers that any man that can face Medusa and make love to her will inherit her gold and riches.
Medusa stayed in her cave, not alone, but among the statues of stone men. But never was she to have love again...until the day Perseus came and gave her enough love to take her life from her so that she could return to the earth free of Athen's curse.
