Egyptian Alchemists mixed their oils and resins at night. They mixed their components with the moon in mind as RA, their Pharaohs and their Queens slept. When the dawning of day broke RA woke from the Earth and lit all of Egypt into Gold light. Incense and perfume danced through the halls of limestone as statues of deities, gods and goddess' stood proud to their land. All oils were made by lunar light. We have the same idea hence why we call ourselves Nocturne Alchemy. Just wanted to throw in a little trivia as to where the name comes from and that we mix by night for all of our Pharaohs and Queens that enjoy our perfume oils.

HAPPY NALIDAYS! I remember being at the Giza Plateua in Cairo and riding a camel (his name was Muhammad as given by his camel Daddy) around the plateua. Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure Pyramids looked on from the distance. To be in the realm of the Pharaohs and Queens, walking (albeit on top of a camel) in the places they had once walked...what magic and imagination created such wonders? The Sphinx in all of its incarnate beauty looking toward Cairo as if to say "This is my land - these are my people - I watch over them with a smile on my face and the great Pharaohs behind me"... so many thoughts went through my head as I carefully balanced holding the reigns attached to the camels' outfit and the thought that could equate that very given moment. Three beautiful Pharaonic Pyramids and the smaller elequent Pyramids of Queens and family just nearby - to be a civilization that learns from itself - is a preposition and juxtaposition of where we are individually right here - right now.

I do believe in manifest destiny and contradictory to endless possibilites - because it is complicated if we want it to be and simpliflied if we don't think about it. The destiny here is the Vanilla that our very beloved perfumist in Cairo has found for us - a beautiful White Vanilla Bean unlike any other - This launch we brought together simple ingredients to create beautiful perfume oils - albeit the 'best' that we could possibly find because we believe in quality and only if it gets the approval or our small Lab group. Found this month some beautiful Vanilla, Amber, Rose, Sandalwood and elegant Essential Oils to create the endless possibilities of blending and using mathematics (as the Ancient Priests did) as quotient vs beauty. We figured it was time to have a small Christmas offering of LE's and a chance to catch up on some GC's you missed or fill up some stockings with some lovely Skarabs that can entice your family and friends to understand the Love for NA and what NA is beyond just the realm of scent.
We have also moved Abu-Simbel and Karnak into the Egyptian Cities section and retitled it Egyptian Temples & Cities. The scents have not changed.
For my NAliday gift to you...upon my research into all things Egyptian - I came across this information more than a few times...
"The birthplace of the Christmas Tree is Egypt, and its origin dates from a period long antecedent to the Christian era. The palm-tree is known to put forth a shoot every month and a spray of this tree with twelve shoots on it was used in Egypt at the time of the winter solstice as a symbol of the year completed.
The palm-tree spray of Egypt, on reaching Italy, became a branch of any other tree (the tip of the fir was found most suitable from its pyramidal or conical shape) and was decorated with burning tapers lit in honor of Saturn, whose saturnalia were celebrated from the 17th to the 21st of December, the period of the winter solstice. Later, this tradition was carried forward for the Christmas season."

RECIPE:
An Egyptian Christmas Recipe: Christmas Lebkuchen
Ingredient:
2 eggs 225g almonds 10g cinnamon 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 4 egg yolks 225g dried orange peel (thinly sliced) 1 teaspoon nutmeg 450g sugar 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind 175g butter 700g flour
1. Melt butter over low heat. 2. Stir in sugar, spices, chopped almonds and well beaten eggs. Add flour and baking powder. 3. Roll dough out thinly and cut into shapes. Place half an almond in the center of each biscuit, and brush the top of each biscuit with the white of an egg. 4. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius until brown
I'm sorry - measurements confuse me - so you'll have to translate grams to tablespoons - it's beyond me. I just make oils.

6.28.08 Good Evening Queens and Pharaohs (and Mummies). First I'd like to give my best to all of those within the NA Pyramid celebrating our 1 year at the forum. We have wonderful things coming up such as incense and body creme and salt scrubs exclusive to our friends at Scent Addict and our family at the Forum.
This update we're all over the board with 3 new Meditation with the Gods and a new Essential TA Tomb oil: Temple of ISIS and a New Moon and a few new LE's - not to mention the that we at NA - continue to strive toward things that evolve the imagination such as NAlloy Shimmer. This month we continue using our imagination and we hope you have fun with our Limited Edition Skorpian Venom not only do you get the 5ml of Skorpian Venom but you also get the Skarab that comes along with it (at no additional price) of Skorpian Anti-Venom. 4.09.08 - From time to time RA goes back to the drawing board and improves upon some of the GC label artwork. This month RED EGYPT, SCARAB and BLUE NILE - have all been reworked. Otherwise nothing else has changed. Subtle changes to make things more pleasing to the eye :)

In our 2nd offering to Hathor (of 7) this beautiful oil will age wonderfully into the summer and to be worn when you are in the shade of the glowing sun. The Sacred Altar of Neith is the honey comb note many have been asking for while Spring of Nephthys is the violet blend we have blended to our own perfection. Decyphering notes in a great blend can sometimes be very hard when the notes seem to attach themselves on each other but the violet blended so lovely with the other notes we had to release her now! Our follow up GOLD: EYE of RA is a sensual blend to entice and inhale upon by the pool or on the boat as you sit sipping your tea as you sail down the Nile and lastly Egyptian Divination is an old recipe from the Ancients - our first annointing oil at the LE price. 12.29.07 - Hello and Happy New Year Update from all of us at NA! We have a few new things to tell you but first let's just jump straight to the chase we have 7Seven new scents for your olfactory pleasure;
First in our NEW 'Moons of Egypt 2008' we have our first Moon of 2008 - ***Faience Moon***. She will be available for 2 months. Every other update the moon will leave and be replaced with another moon. She is to be worn the week of the Full moons of January and February (or anytime you please really). You can find her in the new Moons of Egypt Section at the bottom of the categories on the left. Right under the Scents of the Dead. Once she has come and gone she will not be resurrected by any means. There is no change of price except that she remains a Limited Edition oil for 2 months.

June 2nd, 2007 - just a note. Osiris has been amped of Egyptian Cola, Egyptian Sandalwood, heliotrope, basil, amber and bergamot. Same scent - but amped :) Also updated: the Scents of the Dead page...all scents entombed forever unless a scent-robber unearths them once again. But probably not.

We use Grapeseed and Jojoba as our Carrier oils so they may come across not as strong but with time they will age wonderfully. Some of the oils are just brimming with scent as is no time to wait at all. We've layered our scents so that they only get better. They are new, fresh and made especially for you. Not only is it good for your nose... it's good for your skin. Preferred places to apply - wrist, inner elbow and always finger tips. Our oils are our own blends and we have tried to stay toward the original recipes, new and old, from Ancient Egypt.
A little history on how Nocturne Alchemy came to be. An Egyptian Historian, Egyptian afficionado, discerning connoissuer of perfume/cologne/oil this was an idea I've had for many years. If anyone would say anything about us, they'd say something to the effect of "look at their library of Egyptian books and knowledge on Egypt". So, why not continue with this knowledge and love for perfume and create something SPECIFIC to Egypt?
In the days of Ancient Egypt the Alchemist's of Egypt prepared the bodies with elixar's, perfumes oils, spices and mineral. The majority of the rituals took place at night, hence Nocturne, and the Alchemy or chemistry took more than two weeks, sometimes longer depending on the riches of the person they were mummifying. I chose Nocturne Alchemy from my past and from the ways of the Egyptian Science that today we still are riveted toward in how such a wonderful beguiling civilization came to be and in the philosophy of Alchemy - continues on just as they had wished to be remembered.
We do not deem ourselves anything other than perfumed oils inspired by Egypt. The spices and scents from Egypt are blended into Jojoba and grapeseed base to create a smooth wonderful treatment not only for your senses but for the place you apply the oil. Please do not apply to the face but it is recommended the wrist or inner elbow. Vegetarian for over 25 years, this oil is animal and cruelty free. I value life and in the case of Nocturne Alchemy, I value the after-life just the same. This world is full of so many wonders and this store exists because I love Egypt. And I wanted to create scents inspired from what I love so much. I hope you agree and I hope you are happy with what Nocturne has to offer. All art, design, oil recipes and the site have been created by me. I look forward to changing the box that scent lives in and opening it up as a new present everytime you open a new bottle of mine because I wanted to do something different and in this I have achieved scents for the Egyptologist/afficionado and Historian of ancient oil scents. Egyptian Alchemists mixed their oils and resins at night. They mixed their components with the moon in mind as RA, their Pharaohs and their Queens slept. When the dawning of day broke RA woke from the Earth and lit all of Egypt into Gold light. Incense and perfume danced through the halls of limestone as statues of deities, gods and goddess' stood proud to their land. All oils were made by lunar light. We have the same idea hence why we call ourselves Nocturne Alchemy. Just wanted to throw in a little trivia as to where the name comes from and that we mix by night for all of our Pharaohs and Queens that enjoy our perfume oils.

HAPPY NALIDAYS! I remember being at the Giza Plateua in Cairo and riding a camel (his name was Muhammad as given by his camel Daddy) around the plateua. Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure Pyramids looked on from the distance. To be in the realm of the Pharaohs and Queens, walking (albeit on top of a camel) in the places they had once walked...what magic and imagination created such wonders? The Sphinx in all of its incarnate beauty looking toward Cairo as if to say "This is my land - these are my people - I watch over them with a smile on my face and the great Pharaohs behind me"... so many thoughts went through my head as I carefully balanced holding the reigns attached to the camels' outfit and the thought that could equate that very given moment. Three beautiful Pharaonic Pyramids and the smaller elequent Pyramids of Queens and family just nearby - to be a civilization that learns from itself - is a preposition and juxtaposition of where we are individually right here - right now.

I do believe in manifest destiny and contradictory to endless possibilites - because it is complicated if we want it to be and simpliflied if we don't think about it. The destiny here is the Vanilla that our very beloved perfumist in Cairo has found for us - a beautiful White Vanilla Bean unlike any other - This launch we brought together simple ingredients to create beautiful perfume oils - albeit the 'best' that we could possibly find because we believe in quality and only if it gets the approval or our small Lab group. Found this month some beautiful Vanilla, Amber, Rose, Sandalwood and elegant Essential Oils to create the endless possibilities of blending and using mathematics (as the Ancient Priests did) as quotient vs beauty. For instance a RA's Ambre Vanille is a unique Amber our Master Perfumist blended to create from the lab an Amber similar to Amber23 with unique and essential oils and resins blended not only with one Vanilla but with 15 from around the world to create a smooth, balanced vision of what Vanilla is meant to create. We figured it was time to have a small Christmas offering of LE's and a chance to catch up on some GC's you missed or fill up some stockings with some lovely Skarabs that can entice your family and friends to understand the Love for NA and what NA is beyond just the realm of scent.
We have also moved Abu-Simbel and Karnak into the Egyptian Cities section and retitled it Egyptian Temples & Cities. The scents have not changed.
For my NAliday gift to you...upon my research into all things Egyptian - I came across this information more than a few times...
"The birthplace of the Christmas Tree is Egypt, and its origin dates from a period long antecedent to the Christian era. The palm-tree is known to put forth a shoot every month and a spray of this tree with twelve shoots on it was used in Egypt at the time of the winter solstice as a symbol of the year completed.
The palm-tree spray of Egypt, on reaching Italy, became a branch of any other tree (the tip of the fir was found most suitable from its pyramidal or conical shape) and was decorated with burning tapers lit in honor of Saturn, whose saturnalia were celebrated from the 17th to the 21st of December, the period of the winter solstice. Later, this tradition was carried forward for the Christmas season."

RECIPE:
An Egyptian Christmas Recipe: Christmas Lebkuchen
Ingredient:
2 eggs 225g almonds 10g cinnamon 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 4 egg yolks 225g dried orange peel (thinly sliced) 1 teaspoon nutmeg 450g sugar 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind 175g butter 700g flour
1. Melt butter over low heat. 2. Stir in sugar, spices, chopped almonds and well beaten eggs. Add flour and baking powder. 3. Roll dough out thinly and cut into shapes. Place half an almond in the center of each biscuit, and brush the top of each biscuit with the white of an egg. 4. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius until brown
I'm sorry - measurements confuse me - so you'll have to translate grams to tablespoons - it's beyond me. I just make oils.

6.28.08 Good Evening Queens and Pharaohs (and Mummies). First I'd like to give my best to all of those within the NA Pyramid celebrating our 1 year at the forum. We have wonderful things coming up such as incense and body creme and salt scrubs exclusive to our friends at Scent Addict and our family at the Forum.
This update we're all over the board with 3 new Meditation with the Gods and a new Essential TA Tomb oil: Temple of ISIS and a New Moon and a few new LE's - not to mention the that we at NA - continue to strive toward things that evolve the imagination such as NAlloy Shimmer. This month we continue using our imagination and we hope you have fun with our Limited Edition Skorpian Venom not only do you get the 5ml of Skorpian Venom but you also get the Skarab that comes along with it (at no additional price) of Skorpian Anti-Venom. Either can be worn apart or together when the Sting is too much to handle. SVenom is meant to be worn throughout the year and she will bite differently throughout the seasons. 4.09.08 - From time to time RA goes back to the drawing board and improves upon some of the GC label artwork. This month RED EGYPT, SCARAB and BLUE NILE - have all been reworked. Otherwise nothing else has changed. Subtle changes to make things more pleasing to the eye :)

June 2nd, 2007 - just a note. Osiris has been amped of Egyptian Cola, Egyptian Sandalwood, heliotrope, basil, amber and bergamot. Same scent - but amped :) Also updated: the Scents of the Dead page...all scents entombed forever unless a scent-robber unearths them once again. But probably not.

We use Grapeseed and Jojoba as our Carrier oils so they may come across not as strong but with time they will age wonderfully. Some of the oils are just brimming with scent as is no time to wait at all. We've layered our scents so that they only get better. They are new, fresh and made especially for you. Not only is it good for your nose... it's good for your skin. Preferred places to apply - wrist, inner elbow and always finger tips. Just be careful to wash your Anubis paws before you commence to eating. Otherwise - that's what the Underworld would taste like. You don't want that. Trust me. I've done it.

Our oils are our own blends and we have tried to stay toward the original recipes, new and old, from Ancient Egypt.
A little history on how Nocturne Alchemy came to be. An Egyptian Historian, Egyptian afficionado, discerning connoissuer of perfume/cologne/oil this was an idea I've had for many years. If anyone would say anything about us, they'd say something to the effect of "look at their library of Egyptian books and knowledge on Egypt". So, why not continue with this knowledge and love for perfume and create something SPECIFIC to Egypt?
In the days of Ancient Egypt the Alchemist's of Egypt prepared the bodies with elixar's, perfumes oils, spices and mineral. The majority of the rituals took place at night, hence Nocturne, and the Alchemy or chemistry took more than two weeks, sometimes longer depending on the riches of the person they were mummifying. I chose Nocturne Alchemy from my past and from the ways of the Egyptian Science that today we still are riveted toward in how such a wonderful beguiling civilization came to be and in the philosophy of Alchemy - continues on just as they had wished to be remembered.
We do not deem ourselves anything other than perfumed oils inspired by Egypt. The spices and scents from Egypt are blended into Jojoba and grapeseed base to create a smooth wonderful treatment not only for your senses but for the place you apply the oil. Please do not apply to the face but it is recommended the wrist or inner elbow. Vegetarian for over 25 years, this oil is animal and cruelty free. I value life and in the case of Nocturne Alchemy, I value the after-life just the same. This world is full of so many wonders and this store exists because I love Egypt. And I wanted to create scents inspired from what I love so much. I hope you agree and I hope you are happy with what Nocturne has to offer. All art, design, oil recipes and the site have been created by me. I look forward to changing the box that scent lives in and opening it up as a new present everytime you open a new bottle of mine because I wanted to do something different and in this I have achieved scents for the Egyptologist/afficionado and Historian of ancient oil scents.
